Tea for two and a piece of cake- A title that caught my eye and so I decided to read it. And the way Preeti Shenoy revolved the story around Nisha, Sameer and Akash is completely amazing. She manages the reader to grip onto the book and not leave it till you complete it.
Nisha(a Beautiful, young and suave girl) and Sameer(a handsome young businessman) are the protagonist of the book. They both together have a story book love marriage, but slowly the love from the marriage fades away, and Sameer moves to a younger and beautiful girl Maya leaving Nisha fending for herself and her two children. Nisha is completely lost, feels betrayed and tries to gather the broken pieces of her heart and life. As she see-saws through a series of emotions and feelings of pain and rejection, she finds Akash, an old friend, standing next to her through her dark days. And sets up "The Saucepan"- a place providing gourmet food for high end parties and gatherings, working out all the troubles and glitches with Akash being her moral supporter. Just when she thought her life was getting back on the tracks, another huge jolt shockes her in the form of her neighbor's death and Akash moving to Pondicherry for work commitments. Is she able to come out of this shock? Read the book to find out. :)
My rating: 3.5/5.
